Frequently Asked Questions

What are the dates that your facility will be closed?

  • All statutory holidays
  • Weekends – (we’re always happy to proved our clients with a list of babysitters who are recommended and available weeknights and weekends)
  • Last week of August & December 24th – We need this time to organize and fully sanitize our centre for the coming season, in order to ensure the best possible environment for the children. Parents must arrange alternative childcare arrangements during this time. Fees for these months will remain the same as the other months, but we have offset the yearly total to take this downtime into account.

Is there a deposit required upon registration?

Yes. As a standard industry practice, we require a deposit with your child’s registration. If you withdraw your child, you must provide one month’s notice, on the 1st day of the month (for example: Jan 1st – notice given; Jan 31st – last day, and deposit given). With appropriate, the deposit will be refunded on your child’s last day at the centre.

Do you accept children on subsidy?

Yes, we do! All information and forms are available in the “Registration” section of our website. Until subsidy payment has gone through, however, we ask that parents cover these fees in the interim. It will be the parent’s responsibility to follow up with the Province of BC in regards to their subsidies.

Can I create my own schedule if my child is enrolled part-time?

We always try our best to accommodate our parents’ schedules; however, it will depend on the availability of staff each day. Once a child’s schedule is finalized, no alterations are permitted. If your child is sick or on vacation, we do not allow make up days. If you would like to add an additional day, please let us know and we will work with you to find an opening. If you would like to decrease the amount of days your child attends, we require one month’s written notice on the first of the month.

To reserve a spot for September do I need to enroll my child throughout the summer?

Yes. Your child must be registered in the summer to reserve a spot for September. Our Centre runs year round and carries the same expenses and fixed costs during every season.

If we are planning a month long vacation, do we still have to pay daycare fees for that month to keep our spot?

Can my child bring toys from home?

No, with the exception of a security blanket or special toy. We have a variety of toys for children to play with, and teach children the importance of sharing. For this reason, we generally advise parents to not bring toys from home. However, we understand that some toys may provide comfort for children. Therefore, if children have a special toy which helps them sleep, we can hold onto the toy, or keep it within the child’s backpack until nap time, where they can sleep with their special toy.

Does my child have to take a nap?

No, your child doesn’t have to nap if you prefer they don’t. While other children are napping, we will provide a quiet playtime area for your child.

Where can I park when I take my child to daycare?

Parking is available in front of the Day care.

What if my child is not potty-trained?

It is no problem at all if your child is not potty-trained. We will do our best to encourage your child to use the washroom on their own. However, accidents happen!
